Job Description

Due to our growth, we are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer II to join our Managed Services Team. You will be a passionate believer in providing excellent customer service, and building positive rapport with everyone you connect with daily. As Infrastructure Engineer II, you will play a critical role in delivering services that ensure the highest levels of operational availability and uptime of our client’s technology ecosystem, all whilst embodying Stridon’s mission and values.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  1. The implementation of complex infrastructure projects
  2. Developing and managing hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure environments
  3. Azure implementation and optimisation
  4. Providing ongoing operational support for internal, cloud and client systems architecture, to ensure uptime and availability, remotely and onsite where required.
  5. Acting as key contact and escalation point for client infrastructure and cyber incident and support requests and alerts via phone, email, service tickets and Teams based support channels, demonstrating patience, empathy, and technical expertise.
  6. Leveraging monitoring tools to detect, respond to and troubleshoot infrastructure performance and reliability issues.
  7. Using vulnerability management tools to scan for and remediate vulnerabilities across client infrastructure, deploying patches, firmware and software updates as part of the remediation process.
  8. Monitoring, managing and configuring cyber defence tools, covering solutions such as email hygiene, endpoint detection and response, secure cloud gateways, multi-factor authentication and advanced identity management.
  9. Monitoring and managing client firewalls, intrusion detection and intrusion prevention tools.
  10. Monitoring and administering backup and data resiliency tools to ensure client workloads are protected and within defined SLA.
  11. Operating to defined SLA, OLA and KPI models, in alignment with ITIL best practice and client commitments.
  12. Developing and maintaining documentation and knowledge management of client and internal systems and processes, using designated documentation tools such as IT Glue and Lucid Chart.
  13. Maintaining accurate and up to date incident records using professional service automation tool.
  14. Operating as part of the out of hours on-call rota to respond to ticket escalation and system alerts.

Skills and Qualification Requirements:

  1. Experience working within a Managed Service Provider environment is essential
  2. Industry qualifications are desirable (ITIL/PRINCE2/VCP/Microsoft 365/Microsoft Azure/CCNA/CCNP)

Extensive knowledge and experience in managing and delivering IT services and solutions across a broad range of technologies, which should include a mix of;

  1. Veeam and Zerto backup and data resiliency solutions
  2. Endpoint management tools such as Intune and SCCM
  3. MDR/XDR endpoint protection solutions
  4. Microsoft 365 cyber security and information governance services such as Defender for Office, Defender for Cloud, Purview and Endpoint DLP
  5. Microsoft 365 applications and services, including Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, Exchange Online, Entra ID and OneDrive for Business
  6. Managing certificate services and PKI Infrastructures
  7. Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS architecture
  8. PowerShell and other scripting languages
  9. Active Directory Federation Services
  10. Citrix Virtual Apps, Remote Desktops Services, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
  11. Veeam Backup and Replication and Zerto
  12. VMware and Hyper-V virtualisation
  13. Cisco networking and security products (iOS, FTD, ASA, Meraki, Nexus, ISE)
  14. Cisco Unified Computing System
  15. Load Balancer technologies such as Citrix Netscaler, Azure Gateway, Azure Frontdoor
  16. Networking concepts (LAN/WAN/Routing/Firewalling)
  17. Experience with ConnectWise Manage / Automate or equivalent MSP tools
  18. A good knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management
