Job Description

An Infrastructure Team Leader, who will assist in driving the delivery of a highly skilled, responsive and progressive team.

To support growth, increasing demand and complexity, we are seeking an experienced leader to manage the Infrastructure Lifecycle function within the systems team. You will need a pragmatic and flexible approach to work and get involved in supporting engineers when necessary.

Within the systems team, we provide full Infrastructure Lifecycle Management of a broad range of servers, storage, OS platforms and virtualisation services.

Reporting to the Systems Manager, you will liaise with all leadership areas of the business to provide the compliance, performance and availability of the global enterprise compute and storage platforms that underpin our highly demanding products and services.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Preferred skills and experience

  • Experience in managing support teams that are responsible for large scale infrastructure deployments.
  • Strong leadership experience, whilst managing a range of diverse technologies.
  • Proven track record of leading innovative technical teams.
  • Ability to multitask, manage multiple streams of activity and shift focus regularly.
  • Leadership experience within mature and regulated technology environments, for examples ITIL, PCI-DSS and ISO27001.
  • Knowledge of team measurement, MI reporting and stakeholder management.
  • Degree level qualifications in a technology related subject.
  • Experience working in a large scale, 24/7 enterprise where system uptime and stability is of paramount importance to the business.

Main Responsibilities

  • Managing the BAU Infrastructure Lifecycle activities of diverse technologies and software.
  • Creating, improving and enforcing governance of standards and processes.
  • Identifying inefficient processes and areas where we can refine, improve and automate.
  • Identifying and mitigating risk for mission critical systems and services.
  • Removing blockers and providing an escalation path for the team.
  • Assessing the impact of change.
  • Distributing knowledge and mentoring team members.
  • Providing line management, performance and skills management, mentoring and coaching to staff.
  • Taking accountability, setting high expectations of your work and learning from mistakes in an open and transparent way.
