My client is a dynamic and innovative specialty insurer and reinsurer. They are looking for a talent data product owner to join their team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver value from data to stakeholders.
  • Define, document, and prioritize business requirements with stakeholders.
  • Share data team capabilities and tools to help stakeholders improve processes and make better decisions.
  • Document requirements, business outcomes, data flows, and data using identified tools and techniques.
  • Ensure the business value of requirements is understood by the team.
  • Support engagement partners with delivery of requirements through analysis and testing, as needed.
  • Communicate timelines, expected outcomes, and provide transparency to stakeholders.
  • Embed Service Excellence principles in data contracts.
  • Stay informed about the technology stack, data architecture, and data culture principles to represent the data team effectively.
  • Become an expert in specific datasets, interrogate data, and specify views to support reporting requirements.


Key Skills and Abilities:

  • Passion for using data and technology to drive decision-making.
  • Tenacious, numerate, and detail-focused.
  • Ability to communicate and work with stakeholders across functions, understand business requirements, and help them utilize existing data tools and capabilities.
  • Problem-solving and root cause identification skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple requirements from different teams and prioritize based on value delivered.
  • Experience in capturing, defining, and specifying data mapping and transformation rules.
  • Thrive in a scaled agile environment involving cross-functional execution teams.
  • Ability to coordinate requirements and outcomes across multiple functions within the Data team, especially Data Architecture and Data Engineering, and with Data Culture.
  • Good knowledge of SQL, with knowledge of data modeling concepts and data management techniques being advantageous.
  • Skills in implementing reports/analytics are desirable.
  • Knowledge of AWS and Snowflake is desirable.
  • Experience in the Insurance sector is not required but would be an advantage.
