About the team
We are a small, enthusiastic, and ambitious team which is well respected across the organisation, externally recognised and award winning .
The team offers support to all our Directorates, locally managed schools, and the Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service, ensuring a diverse range of activities.
You will be directly managing the Principal Insurance Officer and one of the Insurance and Risk Officers, while also jointly overseeing two business support colleagues.
About the Role
The role is focused on the insurance side of the team and will be responsible for all underwriting, both internal and external including tendering and renewal of the whole insurance programme in line with the insurance strategy.
Claims management is a vital aspect and this role will support the team, oversee, and authorise the in-house legal team who provide claims handling under a service level agreement as well as liaising with insurers and external legal representatives to ensure excellent claims management. As the organisation operates an insurance fund some experience in financial management is required.
It will require a leader who is robust in managing performance both internally and with external providers. Report writing and dissemination of insurance data is a key element.
This role is predominately delivered remotely, although the team currently have an agreed office day and there would be the requirement to attend our Lincoln office on the team day, as well as at other times as required for business need.
