Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Banking Lawyer specialising in Debt Capital Markets (DCM) to join a leading financial institution on an interim basis. The business are in a phase of significant growth and thus increased workloads within their Treasury team. This interim Banking Lawyer role offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact by alleviating the existing team’s workload and supporting key treasury functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal support for general treasury activities, internal treasury transactions, programme updates, and routine activities arising from existing securitisations.
  • Manage a variety of DCM transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Collaborate closely with the Treasury team, providing hands-on assistance and taking ownership of various tasks.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents and agreements related to banking and DCM transactions.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal and regulatory changes, advising the team accordingly.
Person Specification:
  • Qualified lawyer with 5PQE+
  • Extensive UK experience in general banking and DCM work.
  • Ideally possesses treasury advisory experience.
  • Ability to roll up sleeves, be very hands-on, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Pattern:
  • Ideally 5 days per week.
  • Minimum of 3 days office presence preferred, with flexibility for more if possible.
