Interim QA Manager (maternity cover)
£300 - £350 per day
Our client is a multi million turnover manufacturer of medical hardware products, designed and produced from their facility in West Sussex, UK.
They have an interim requirement for a QA Manager to cover maternity leave until November 2024, requirement as follows:

- Experience of Quality & EHS team management with appropriate communication and people skills
- Excellent knowledge of quality, environmental and H&S management systems and their application to high technology & engineering environments
- Comprehensive understanding of the requirements and application of ISO9001 quality standard, ISO 13485 quality systems for medical devices standard ISO45001 Occupational Health & Safety management standard and ISO14000 environmental management standard
- Qualified auditor
- Enthusiastic, inquisitive & self-driven individual
- Ability to work under pressure
- Track record of high achievement
- Intuitive lateral thinker with problem solving abilities
Attributes
- Good honours degree in an Engineering discipline
- Track record in quality management and in the introduction and improvement of quality, environmental and H&S management systems
- Understanding of mechanical inspection techniques
- Knowledge of electrical engineering
- Understanding of physics or electromagnetic principles
- Knowledge of pressure vessels in relation to superconducting magnets
Principal accountabilities
- To support the management and development of the QA and EHS system to provide a positive benefit to the company.
- To arrange, oversee and ensure successful outcomes of all QA and EHS audits by customers and accreditation bodies.
- To develop positive relationships with our suppliers and customers and gain the respect and confidence of suppliers and customers.
- To conduct supplier audits and resolve quality and materials issues.
- To promote a positive working image of QA and EHS within the company.
- To continuously improve working practice within the department, and introduce new beneficial systems.
- To communicate directly with both customers and suppliers to resolve QA and inspection and EHS issues
