You will be working for a well-established Building Services consultancy in the heart of Leicester, who work in an expansive portfolio of sectors which include; high-end residential, education, commercial and heritage. Within the sectors they work in, they provide services, which include; Mechanical, Electrical, Sustainable Design and BIM. This is a particularly exciting time to join the team as they have strong working relationships and business growth and are looking at expanding into bigger offices and opening new offices in different locations.

Your New Role

Your main purpose of the role is the design of mechanical engineering for building services.

In this role, you will be:

  • Managing multiple projects and prioritising workload meet all assigned deadlines
  • Surveying and reporting on mechanical systems in buildings
  • Prepare technical specifications and drawings using industry-standard software
  • Undertaking design calculations
  • Design mechanical installations to meet British Standards
  • Developing design proposals at sketch, detailed design and production stages
  • Preparing tender documentation and reports
  • Demonstrate a passion for mechanical design engineering and a willingness to learn
  • Support senior members of staff in managing client and design team relationships

You will need to undertake other duties as may be required to achieve objectives.


What You'll Need to Succeed

You will need to have mechanical design experience.

You will need:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within a building services design role
  • HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in Building Services or related subject
  • Experience in design software e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, IES
  • Experience contributing to design team meetings
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • To be willing to travel
