The Role of Senior International Business Development Manager

As Senior International Business Development Manager the primary purpose of your role will be to sell advertising/sponsorship solutions spanning print, online and events (conferences/awards). Clients tend to span the whole spectrum of the b2b COSMETICS and PHARMA sectors....so packaging, testing companies, ingredient manufacturers etc.

You will be selling both to new and existing clients and will travel to meet international clients (7 or so times a year).

There are some exciting extra benefits to this role as well. For example, if you are meeting clients in France, Germany, Dubai, USA, China etc, you can add your holiday onto the end of the business trip meaning that you don’t pay for your flight out to the destination or home again (as the company will always pay for return flights from a business trip even if it’s a week later).

Requirements for this Senior International Business Development Manager position

  • 6+ years multiplatform display advertising sales experience (must have)
  • Ideally some conference sponsorship sales and award sponsorship sales experience
  • International multiplatform media sales experience (must have)
  • Second language would be beneficial (particularly French or German)
  • Confident, highly articulate self-starter
  • Someone outgoing and sociable – they often socialise together and so they look for people who are happy to fit into that culture
  • Able to travel – 6-7 times per year (from 1 day to 1 week)
  • Someone who takes ownership of their client base
  • Driven and motivated
  • Strong at new business development as 70% of the role is new business
  • Hard worker who is mature enough to have sophisticated conversations with very senior level decision makers
  • Experience of managing or mentoring other media sales people would be desirable
