Ex-Wives Ltd (EWL) are looking for a passionate and driven International General Manager to join the producing team behind SIX the Musical.

EWL is the global rights holder and licensor of SIX, and is run by SIX's original producers Kenny Wax, Wendy & Andy Barnes and George Stiles.


SIX has become a global phenomenon since its early days as a student production at the Edinburgh Fringe, with sell-out productions across the West End, Broadway, North America, Australia and beyond, as well as two chart-topping albums.


The International General Manager plays a key role in the international rollout of SIX, with a series of international touring dates and new international productions in the pipeline for 2023 onwards.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES


The International General Manager is responsible for working with local producers and promoters to manage the delivery of international replica productions (excluding UK & North America) and international touring engagements on behalf of EWL.


The International General Manager works with the Executive Producer (International), Marketing & Brand Manager, International Production Coordinator and International Booker, and liaises on a regular basis with UK General Management team, who are based in the same office.


  • Working with the Executive Producer (International) and International Booker to plan for international activity; advising on the requirements of the show, schedules and costings.
  • Working with the SIX Creative Team, UK & US General Management Teams to maintain a pool of associates and schedule creative staffing for international productions.
  • Identifying and implementing processes & resources to support the delivery of SIX international activity.
  • Working closely with international producers on the delivery of new international replica productions to ensure productions are delivered to a first-class standard, including advising on all stages of production, providing UK office & staffing support, coordinating with the SIX Creative Team and overseeing the approvals process.
  • Working closely with international promoters and the UK Tour General Management team on the delivery of the UK Tour's international touring dates, including creating budgets & detailed schedules, overseeing the coordination of international logistics and visas, and liaising with unions.
  • Managing royalty distributions on international productions and international touring engagements.
  • Overseeing the International Production Coordinator in the management of global production logistics and coordination of global production activity, supporting running productions as needed.
  • Keeping the Original Producers and Executive Producer (International) updated on the progress of international productions and touring engagements.
  • Monitoring EWL production-related expenditure, ensuring invoices are generated and paid promptly.
  • Overseeing the delivery of one-off projects for EWL.
  • Looking after the interests of EWL & the SIX royalty holders at all times and representing SIX on international productions.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION


Essential


  • A minimum of 7 years' relevant professional experience in a theatre general management role.
  • Experience of general managing first-class productions in the West End, on tour and/or internationally.
  • Experience of managing budgets, negotiating deals and contracts, liaising with unions and managing royalty payments.
  • Experience of working with producing partners to deliver productions.
  • Highly organised and efficient, with the ability to think ahead and take initiative. Proven experience working with a range of different professionals and creative individuals at all levels to deliver work to a high standard. Ability to work both self-sufficiently and collaboratively as part of a busy producing office. Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task effectively under pressure, prioritising across numerous productions & deadlines. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. A clear and effective communicator across all media with excellent computing & IT skills. Flexibility, reliability & enthusiasm. Tact, diplomacy and discretion. A fast learner.


  • Passionate about musical theatre.

Desirable


  • Experience on international productions and/or international touring. Experience of working in a commercial theatre office.

FURTHER INFORMATION


Contract: 1 year fixed-term with possibility to become permanent thereafter


Hours: 4-5 days per week (we are open to candidates who can do either). Normal office hours are 10am-6pm Monday-Friday. Evening and weekend work may be required


Annual Holiday: 20 days per annum plus Bank and Public Holidays (pro-rata if relevant)


Salary: £40,000 per annum (pro rata if relevant)


Location: Central London (office based) with occasional international travel
