Purpose of Role


The main purpose of the role is to increase company profitability, working closely with the Commercial Finance team to provide management with accurate financial information to aid decision making. You will be responsible for all inventory related accounting, reporting and controls.


Main Responsibilities

  • Margin and variance analysis
  • Inventory valuation (existing products and supporting new products)
  • Overhead calculations and variances
  • Reconciliation between SAP and DRAMS; timely resolution of issues arising
  • Supervision/review of cycle counts
  • Inventory ageing analysis and reporting
  • Slow moving/obsolete inventory strategy and reporting
  • Annual HMRC reporting
  • Material review board
  • Involvement with preparing annual budget
  • Manage and own your professional development in order to achieve your work objectives and your career and personal goals.


Scope of Role


  • Will be free to use their own judgement on the appropriate allocation of certain items, however, when necessary, they will seek confirmation by management. To go above and beyond and grow the role as required in line with business growth.


Working Conditions


  • 34 hours working week.
  • This is a hybrid role with home and office-based working.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Similar experience in manufacturing company essential
  • Similar experience in whisky industry would be advantageous
  • Part qualified accountant or qualified by experience
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills
