Sofa Club are the fastest growing sofa brand in the UK and our team is expanding! We have an exciting opportunity for our first ever Inventory Manager to join our team. If you are driven and meticulous and ready to take on the challenge of maintaining flawless stock control in a dynamic environment, this role is for you.


Hybrid Role, Office in Hertford (SG13 7GX), 4 days in HQ, Wednesdays Remote.

Purpose of Role

We are looking for a highly organised, talented Inventory Manager to manage and verify the integrity of our multi-million pound sofa stock holding across multiple locations. This brand new role addresses a current challenge within our business: the inability to provide real-time, accurate stock records. You will be responsible for maintaining and reporting accurate inventory numbers and possess the determination to resolve these issues.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will ensure that our stock records are stock records are meticulous and audit-ready. Collaborating with many other departments, you will be the backbone of our stock integrity and management.


Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for reporting accurate daily stock valuations.
  • Maintain accurate and real-time visibility of stock holdings and their monetary values across all locations.
  • Implement new processes from the ground up to track end-to-end stock movement.
  • Reconcile differences in inventory records, providing detailed reports on findings.
  • Evaluate current inventory management procedures and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory transactions and highlight/investigate any irregularities.
  • Trace failed deliveries and returns, ensuring items are correctly restocked.
  • Identify the scale of damaged stock and losses and implement measures to minimise them.
  • Regularly visit 3PL warehouse in Swindon to physically verify stock accuracy.
  • Develop and coach teams on compliance with audit controls to improve stock management efficiency.
  • Prevent fraud and theft of inventory
  • Collaborate closely with other departments such as Supply Chain, Merchandising, and Warehouse.


Expectations:


  • Experience managing large-scale inventory and warehouse stock systems.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
  • Exceptionally strong in using Excel and handling large data sets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with different departments and levels of staff.
  • Demonstrated authority in demanding and managing information.
  • Resilience and dedication to maintaining stock accuracy and process integrity.
  • Experience in financial auditing or working closely with finance teams.
