About the roleSitting within the HR Advisory team, this role provides an investigation service to all areas within the Council, and for Schools buying into our HR services. You’ll be responsible for planning and conducting investigations, typically into potential disciplinary or grievance matters, gathering facts to enable managers to decide on the appropriate course of action. Presenting cases at internal and external hearings will also be an important element of the role. About youTo undertake this role successfully you’ll possess a range of knowledge, skills and abilities including:A relevant professional qualification or the ability to demonstrate competence at an equivalent level;Up to date knowledge and understanding of investigative practices and techniques, particularly relating to employment investigations;Strong listening and questioning skills and interview techniques; andAn ability to produce effective and high quality investigation documentation and reports. With either an HR background, or having a good understanding of how employment investigations need to be conducted and findings presented, your professional curiosity will enable you to manage often complex and sensitive matters appropriately.
