The role itself

Playing a leading role in supporting the ‘engine room’ in appraising new deals, putting memos and decks together and improving capacity across the team, reporting directly into the Investment Director.

The day-to-day role will involve financial analysis of new deals, identifying those which best fit our investment criteria and then assisting with bidding, negotiation, and execution process. Investments include both individual transactions and portfolios, using a variety of capital and funding structures to maximise alignment and returns. The role will also require liaison with the analyst/associate team of our clients institutional capital partner.

You will have the opportunity to play a key role in the scaling of the platform, whilst developing your skills working within dynamic team with institutional investment backing.

Duties and responsibilities to include:

  • Perform detailed financial analysis and modelling to evaluate potential investment opportunities, including cash flow projections, IRR and ROI calculations.
  • Prepare and present investment memorandums and reports to both the senior management team and external stakeholders.
  • Track and monitor investment pipeline - become the gatekeeper of all dealflow.
  • Conduct market research to assess real estate trends, economic indicators, and competitive landscapes to inform investment decisions. This will be supplemented with site visits, coordination with the asset management team and meetings with consultants, agents and selling counterparties.
  • Review of legal documents, planning decisions, site plans, schedules of accommodation, development programmes and other key technical information. Liasing with team-members, advisors and consultants to challenge findings and assumptions within.
  • Assist in the production of acquisition bid documentation and other transaction related presentations and board / committee reports – both internally and for our capital partner.
  • Assistance with, and eventually coordination of, acquisition execution process – including business plan updates, transaction documents, due diligence budgets, checklists, review of due diligence reports and liaison with key consultants.
  • Help to shape investment templates, processes and underwriting systems with aim of driving efficiency in the transaction process so that the business can grow as quickly and sustainably as possible.
  • Monitor the performance of existing investments and suggest strategies for improvement.
  • Stay informed of the latest developments in real estate markets, construction technology, and financial regulations.

What do you need to bring to the table?

  • Strong analytical skills with a proficiency in financial modelling and statistical analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information in an understandable format.
  • Minimum 1-year’s full time working experience in real estate, finance or construction.
  • High level of proficiency in Excel and financial modelling software.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Other Details

  • Salary: £60,000 - £80,000
