About the role

Exciting opportunity to join our Re Entry Project in Europe!

This position leads the Technology team’s efforts in entering and sustaining GMF operations in Europe. This role will lead delivery of both white label & custom technology solutions across the various European markets. The role is ultimately responsible for defining and executing the IT strategies, solutions, and IT delivery methods that would be necessary to support such initiatives. This role will be based out of London and will be reporting to the CIO for International Operations.

What you need

Essential:

  • 10+ years of proven experience in multiple IT disciplines, including Architecture, Application Development, and Agile program delivery.
  • Experience in managing large, high profile projects.
  • Experience in managing diverse, executive stakeholder relationships.
  • Degree level educated (bachelor’s required/ master’s preferred) in IT or relevant equivalent.
  • 7+ years of management experience.
  • Available to travel internationally for business purposes.
  • Experience managing third party vendors

Preferable:

  • Financial services industry experience.
  • European market experience.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Ability to manage large, complex IT initiatives involving multiple vendors, stakeholders, and diverse geographical locations.
  • Proven ability to use different techniques and approaches to manage dynamic vendor situations.
  • Expertise in building & deploying public cloud solutions complying with GDPR requirements.
  • Strong experience in deploying both white label & custom banking integration solutions.
  • Strong expertise & experience of API design, architecture & implementation for Digital channel experience across Web & Mobile.
  • Experience in the optimization of data architecture for delivering scalable business needs leveraging cloud data platforms.
  • Experience working with omni-channel digital customer journey’s leveraging IAM technologies such as MFA/2FA/OAuth2.
  • Experience working with employee authentication/authorization using PIM/PAM.
  • Adept at using intuition and other subjective metrics to anticipate project issues before they arise.
  • Outstanding communication skills in both written and spoken form. Capable of communicating ideas in both technical and business language and to extrapolate detail and communicate to management in concise manner.
  • Skilled in communicating with executive business, partner-level consultants and other key stakeholders; Does not shy away from difficult topics.
  • Understands and is able to rationalize perspectives on industry evolution.
  • Ability to thoroughly understand the business issues surrounding IT matters.Thorough understanding of project financials, budgeting and business value.
  • Outstanding customer relationship management skills and strong customer focus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Outstanding at working under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality solutions.
  • Ability to be flexible to working locations, working hours and international travel to support a global business.
  • Ability to operate with the utmost integrity and consistently display a positive attitude to work and the various challenges encountered in a project environment.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with an attention to detail.

Languages:

  • English both verbal and written proficiency.
  • Additional Plus: Spanish, German, and/or French

What you will be doing

  • Define IT strategies for efficiently entering Europe and launching new lines of business; plans and manages the execution of IT efforts
  • Lead technical design/architecture, delivery, resourcing, and estimating model for Europe initiatives
  • Influence key stakeholders concerning IT requirements/constraints
  • Synchronize all IT project activities and responses with that of business partners from GM Financial, GM Europe, and banking partners
  • Structure governance and status reporting to ensure decisions/issues/risks are elevated to appropriate level for resolution
  • Work closely with Business and Product Management to align on product vision, roadmap and outlook of new future business streams
  • Lead matrixed team of direct, dotted-line, and vendors/consultants
