What's in it for you?
This is a role which would take you to a new level of technical challenge. This well-known e-commerce company's IT estate is multi-faceted and will require a certain amount of adaptability to work with. Running a Microsoft tech shop for BAU infrastructure with backend data systems and front-end deployment infrastructure for you to get your hands on. This company are looking for a technically minded IT professional who doesn't have to hit the ground running but is up to speed with typical infrastructure.
The Role
This role is very exciting and allows you to work with a solution that breaks the status-quo. Whilst still utilising sought-after infrastructure elements such as VMWare, Azure and complex networking, you will deliver a unique infrastructure that supports a challenge rarely found elsewhere. How do you host a website that has 1 million users at peak times? You are not expected to have prior knowledge of the infrastructure behind a high-performance website. However, you will definitely have to be up for the challenge to learn. There is a mix of Windows and Linux servers and they like to automate and manage the infrastructure through PowerShell and Ansible.
All the technologies above are what you can look forward to using in the future but for now, they are not necessarily looking for someone to hit the ground running.
The only experience you need is:
Experience working in Virtual Environments and desirably Cloud experience.
Experience working with both Windows and Linux servers
Some scripting experience.
Wanting a challenge.
The Company
This Ecommerce company have a refreshing and adapting IT Infrastructure that is ever-evolving. You will be working directly with the infrastructure manager to deliver BAU infrastructure as well as project work. This E-commerce site can see a rise in usage 100x in a matter of minutes and therefore a sophisticated infrastructure solution is needed to ebb and flow with demand. You will be given the opportunity to learn, study and have qualifications paid for as you take in a complex cloud and on-prem IT solution.
