An opportunity has arisen for a diverse IT Project Manager to join a Global Events Facilities/Entertainment organisation.

Your new role

You will be a member of the Business Applications team, who are responsible for the implementation, adoption and successful integration of business applications.

Business Applications includes Finance HR, Payroll and Time and Attendance systems, venue booking and management applications, customer relationship
management systems, Electronic Point of Sale, Incident Management and reporting applications.

While local IT managers in Europe will be responsible for the day to day management of business systems that are specific to their building or division, the European Business Applications team will be responsible for setting the strategy for business applications across Europe and for looking for opportunities to reduce cost, maximise revenue and improve efficiency through rationalisation and consolidation.

The European IT Team strives for the highest standards of service, reliability and quality. You will work collaboratively with our customers, systems suppliers and IT staff to enhance and exploit our systems further.

Main activities
As a member of the Business Applications team, you will:

  • Work with the Business Applications Manager, Europe to support the planning for future IT business applications projects in Europe, including the expansion of our IT business applications to support new venues.
  • Work with IT managers at our venues in Europe to provide advice and support, and ensure that centralised business systems meet their requirements.
  • Work with IT managers at venues in Europe to ensure that we take full advantage of opportunities to reduce cost and improve efficiency through rationalisation and consolidation.
  • Gather and document the requirements for new business applications in Europe and enhancements to existing systems.
  • Assist with contract negation, including technical SLAs, data protection requirements and identification of setup specifics (for example, SSO, email and network requirements)
  • Complete documentation to business standards. Documentation will include configuration documentation for Business Applications and standard operational procedures for common tasks associated with those systems.
  • Ensure that applications and/or systems are implemented in the most efficient way possible and that automation is implemented for common tasks wherever possible.
  • Assisting with managing business led projects through their entire life cycle including the scheduling of resource, prioritisation of work in consultation with the businesses European management team, implementation and documentation.
  • Understand the long-term business objectives and suggest technical strategies to meet those objectives, introducing innovation to business processes through technology.
  • Provide and promote the highest level of customer service.


Essential skills

  • Have a clear focus on customer service and the ability to identify and meet customer expectations
  • Have experience of analysing and documenting business processes and implementing process improvement.
  • Have experience of Information Security principles and an awareness of the growing importance of ensuring systems and data are secured.
  • Have experience of managing and delivering complex IT infrastructure projects on time and on budget, including projects distributed across multiple sites. This should include an understanding of IT architectural basics in order to identify the team within the IT department that should be involved with any given project.
  • Have experience of managing supplier relationships, and of running a structured supplier selection process.
  • Have experience of assisting with legal contracts, an understand of Service Level Agreements (SLA) and a base understanding of GDPR and how this relates to staff/customer data responsibilities and processing.
  • Be able to use initiative, work with minimum supervision, organise your time effectively, and deliver to agreed timescales.
  • Have a record of producing accurate detailed reports, of paying attention to detail and of working to agreed standards.
  • Have experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, ideally in an international organisation
  • Have experience of cloud-based technology platforms such as Microsoft Azure, MS O365 and SaaS applications.
  • Have experience of authentication protocols such as Single Sign On, SAML, OAuth.
