Based in Cambridge, our client will offer a remote or hybrid model of working. Whatever suits you!
**In addition to an 'on-call' element, this role has a normal shift pattern of Monday to Friday 5pm 1am UK time. This is designed to cover the support requirements of international clients.
** On call element will be remunerated on top of base Salary
As an IT Support Engineer your responsibilities will be broad and include:
Work as part of the Support team as a point of contact to receive multi-channel communications from customers
Install and configure server systems, computer hardware & software
Aid in the growth of support service offering, ensuring that a professional approach is made when dealing with all customer requests
Monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting computer systems and networks both in an on premise and Cloud (Azure) environment
Take ownership of customer incidents and requests and follow up the status of tickets on behalf of the user
1st and 2nd line support - troubleshooting of IT related problems from in-house software to hardware, such as iPhones, Laptops, PCs and Printers
Troubleshoot IT network and Infrastructure related issues
Monitor the status of customer systems, proactively taking necessary action to resolve incidents when required
Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with the business, customer contacts and 3rd parties.
Key Knowledge
A highly motivated, self-starter, with experience working within IT support
Experience of Azure Administration
Experience of fault finding and troubleshooting complex systems
Windows Server 2008-2019.
Windows 10 andMac OSX troubleshooting
Microsoft Office 365 administration of user accounts, product licenses and Exchange Online
Experience of Windows and Linux server administration
Network trouble shooting, TCP/IP and general WAN/ LAN trouble shooting including firewall configuration
Active Directory administration
Ability to support non-technical customers and explain complex technical concepts in simple terms
Desirable:
Experience of PKI Certificates for TLS/HTTPS.
Experience of using MySQL.
Experience of using Microsoft PowerShell
