University of Edinburgh Sport has an ever-growing need for IT services and IT or digital related solutions. From the software and hardware our team(s) use in their day-to-day activities, to the systems our members engage with. IT related provision underpins almost everything we do and is crucial to our future success. 

This position plays an important role in supporting the University of Edinburgh Sport team, spanning 5 geographical locations and a diverse range of services and sport disciplines.  

The Opportunity:

As IT Support Officer, reporting to the IT Manager, you will work collaboratively and enthusiastically to ensure the highest standard of service for the sport community.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • You will be first class in the administration, maintenance and troubleshooting of hardware, systems, networks and servers and assist in their procurement, installation and configuration; in accordance with University IT policy.
  • An HNC or equivilant professional qualification in an IT subject area
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical subjects 
  • A demonstrable understanding of data protection and data security concepts
  • A team player with an open, enthusiastic, and dynamic approach
