An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Technical Operations Engineer arisen to join the team in Newcastle, supporting the business to minimize user downtime. You wouldbe working a variable shift pattern of days and nightsand in return will be rewarded with a generous 20%unsocial hours workingallowance.

The IT Technical Engineer willsupport the business and minimise user downtime and issues by being responsible for the day to day technical and support needs of the business, through direct support and management of 3rd party suppliers on a 24/7 shift rotation. You will also provide support for ongoing Projects throughout the business.

Main responsibilities as IT Technical Operations Engineer:
Provide second-line support to users of 3rd party supported applications.
Participate in an escalation phone line for critical incidents.
Management of critical incidents from 1st report through to resolution.
Perform general application systems administration for supported applications.
Perform daily monitoring tasks to maintain system uptime.
Liaise with users to understand, document and manage their requirements and issues to resolution.
Work with the Development Team to test new solutions.
Participate in a 24/7 shift rota.
Provide technical IT support and guidance to the Projects Team.
Provide data extracts to the business to support sales and tender documentation.
Manage IT DR and BCP processes.
Manage and host internal IT Forums.
Identify new and appropriate technologies to support the business.
Build, support and administration of Mobile devices across the business.
Build, support and administration of PC and Laptop hardware across the business.
Able to learn new skills quickly and effectively through personal learning and development and in house business training.
Assist with Field support duties if/when required.
The ideal IT Technical Operations Engineer:
Mobile Operating Systems experience (Android, IOS)
Must be working towards a recognised IT certificate or have relevant experience working within a support environment.
Good communication and planning skills
Laptop, Desktop troubleshooting and repair.
Experience supporting Windows Operating Systems
Able to support Microsoft Office
Experience of Antivirus packages
Experience Troubleshooting Network printers and print servers.
Experience with Remote access using RDP, Remote assistance, or other 3rd Party tools to help remote users.
Understanding and experience of Active directory
Understanding of NTFS
The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation for detailed screening and vetting processes.These documents may include your passport, drivers license, utility bill (dated in the last 3 months), HMRC letter, an original bank statement, an original payslip, your birth certificate or a valid share code.
