IT Technician Job Description
We Staff are in partnership with an Aviation maintenance company for our recruitment services. Our client in Harrow specializes in the supply and distribution of aviation consumables for people carriers and MOD aircraft. This role acts as the face of the IT Department, so an approachable and friendly attitude is essential. You will play an important role in providing strategic, routine, and emergency support to users. Ultimately, you should have a flexible working attitude and be able to work under tight deadlines.
This independent position will take responsibility for the IT Department and resolve employee IT tickets as well as project work with soft/hardware equipment.
Salary: £35,000 DOE
Location: Harrow
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday and permanent
IT Technician Experience and Knowledge:
- User Technical Support Networking and PC Assembling
- First point of call for any IT-related issue
- Resolve infrastructure and system incidents
- Carry out routine proactive tasks to ensure availability of systems
- Office IT support
- Undertake general troubleshooting and investigative work
- Setup new users and configure their workstations or laptops
- Managing firewalls and switches
- Microsoft 365 user administration
- Manage servers and backups on Azure
- Monitor virus alerts and manage PCs
- Check WSUS and release updates
- Manage outlook rules and email changes
- Hardware – Assembling, installation, and repair of PCs
- Software – Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
Candidate Requirements:
- 3 years’ experience as a stand-alone IT Support Technician
- Confident with reporting to Directors
- Experience of taking full responsibility of an IT department
Our client is particularly interested in candidates with a minimum of 3 years in a similar position.
