Java Developer
Hybrid Based in Manchester
Must be eligible for SC Clearance - Candidates must be sole British citizens
My Client is currently in search of a Java Developer to join their growing Government business unit. Candidates will be helping to develop and deliver next generation communication and intelligence solutions for a wide range of clients such as law enforcement agencies, telecommunications companies and compliance agencies.
What will you be doing
- As a Java developer, you will be working in a small focussed team using some of the latest technologies to create large sets of data, which can be efficiently processed to provide actionable intelligence.
- Candidates will be working with Big Data, innovative security and threat detection systems in turn contributing to the system design and development decisions, which affect the integration of both future and existing systems.
- The ideal Java developer will be familiar with full lifecycle software development in Java
- Being able to successfully deliver high quality software releases
- Participation in occasional training and business development opportunities
- Strive for continuous improvement by investigation and research alternative technologies
Requirements
- Minimum of 4+ years as a professional Java developer
- Must have commercial cloud experience (AWS or Azure)
- Experience writing tests for existing and new code to ensure compatibility and stability
- Experience with different types of source control (preferably Git), be familiar with continuous integration, test-driven development and be prepared to use agile development techniques to incrementally deliver working software.
- Must work well in small teams and pride themselves in the quality job they do
- Consultancy experience is preferable
