Background

Rotherfield is a progressive mixed farming estate in East Hampshire, near Alton. It comprises residential, commercial and agricultural property as well as commercial farming, forestry and environmental management.

The Estate is committed to long-term responsible stewardship to help create a sustainable community in which employment is not solely dependent on agriculture or local economic conditions. The landscape in which our community sits should produce the optimal long run resilient yields of food and other crops whilst still being home to a diverse range of wildlife.

We are on a mission to continuously improve our buildings and infrastructure across the Estate, by making thoughtful choices as to how we approach maintenance, refurbishment, and repair, to minimise and streamline our future needs.

We look at the whole life cycle cost assessment of our design decisions and have been milling timber from our own woodland for use in our projects to lock up carbon.

There are over 30 people working on the Estate across different teams. A strong group of Team Leaders work together directly with the Owner on our long-term strategy of enhancing all the environments across the Estate.
