Job PurposeSalary: £26,975 - £42,080 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. BBC Radio Berkshire broadcasts to a diverse area of almost one million people in urban centres like Reading and Slough, historic Windsor and rural West Berkshire. We’re looking for an ambitious newsreader with a great voice to deliver our weekend bulletins. We would consider applications from those who only wished to work one of the days Key Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesYou’ll be responsible for writing, compiling and presenting news bulletins at the weekend on BBC Radio Berkshire.We’re proud of our bulletins – written and presented with flair, featuring powerful, local voices.We’re looking for someone who knows how to spot and sell great stories and can work to tight deadlines to get them on air.The role involves working closely with colleagues in other parts of the newsroom to ensure our weekend news content reaches the largest possible audience. Knowledge, Skills, Training & ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have:• A great on-air voice• Experience of producing and presenting live radio news bulletins• Exceptional writing skills• An understanding of what makes great radio bulletins and the stories people in Berkshire are interested in.• A track record of making editorial decisions on their own• Strong audio editing skills (knowledge of Dira is desirable but not essential)• Good organisational skillsApplications may be submitted in Welsh, and an application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English. / Mae modd cyflwyno ceisiadau yn Gymraeg, ac ni fydd cais a gyflwynir yn Gymraeg yn cael ei drin yn llai ffafriol na chais a gyflwynir yn Saesneg.
