Who are we looking for

We are looking for a candidate to be 100% dedicated to supporting the Director of Capital Markets and Origination with the sourcing, arranging, execution and funding of whole loan and forward flow ABS transactions in the UK, Ireland and the Nordics. The asset classes that are typically funded include mortgages, auto/asset finance, SME’s, invoice, CRE, bridging / development and unsecured consumer loans.

The ideal candidate will be an energised, numerate and a communicative self-starter who can multitask and prioritise in a varied day to-day working environment. This might be a second job, post undergraduate qualification, or someone who has two years relevant work experience.

What we offer

Be part of a growing team making fast decisions, where you can watch your ideas and actions come to fruition. This is what adds up to time well-spent – not mere billable hours

  • Diversity: intellectual as well as cultural – join a welcoming international team of smart and open-minded people, where it’s easy to make friends
  • A Personal Development Plan, along with access to dedicated resources to ensure that you can be the best in your role
  • Work-family-friends balance – step off the treadmill and feel like a human again: our office is all about maintaining a healthy balance between a results-driven work environment and your all-around wellbeing
  • An opportunity to be the change you want to see: at CrossLend you can use your skills to not only make a good living, but to enhance the transparency of the financial ecosystem
  • Creative ownership – drive the business forward with your ideas, launch projects from the ground up and see them through from inception to completion, giving your input and galvanising your colleagues while you bring out the best in each other

What you bring on board

High level understanding of various financial products and markets

  • An understanding of the capital markets with emphasis on securitisation and private credit. Previous experience from an asset originator/lender, funding bank, investor, fund or rating agency is highly regarded
  • Strong mathematical skills and able to interpret numbers to influence business decisions
  • Ability to review and understand transaction term sheets, legal documents and to translate this information into financial models
  • Experience with commercial, bridging, residential development finance and CRE lending is a strong plus
  • Experience with structuring / modelling credit enhancement and cash flow models (an advantage but not a prerequisite)
  • Ability to maintain investor / originator databases and update deal workflow, project tracking systems
  • Microsoft Office suite including advanced Excel and VBA (an advantage)

The immediate task will be to support the Director with the growing pipeline of investor and originator opportunities

  • The role will involve negotiation, data analysis / modelling, pitch book creation and analysis of various asset backed funding structures, working closely with other members of the team, investors, banks, external legal firms and rating agencies
  • This is a phenomenal opportunity for a candidate to gain exposure and experience with institutional investors in the fixed income credit, ABS, private debt, private credit, real assets, hard assets, illiquids and secure income return space
  • To work autonomously, to meet tight deadlines and to have a passion to find solutions

What are we doing

CrossLend is developing a platform to connect institutional sellers (originators) and buyers (investors) of loans on a large scale. Originators are providing historical data that are used to create prediction models. Based on the predictions, investors can run several types of analytics to define their investment criteria. Once an investment is done, the platform will be fed with updates about the loan performance to provide further portfolio analysis. This provides investors with a high level of transparency to prevent crashes like the one that happened in 2008. In an additional step, the purchased loans can be resold on the platform to create a liquid market for loans to enable a better flow of capital between countries in the European Union.
