A Retailer of Fashion, Home and Leisure are looking for an experienced Junior Category Manager to join and play a key role in developing the Homewares brand. Based within the Solihull office with hybrid working. Reporting into the Homeware Category Manager, you will be responsible for growing the category agenda within your area. Working cross functionally to deliver compelling product ranges you will enjoy working in a busy fast paced environment some of your responsibilities will include:
- Working with the Category Managers to agree pricing and positioning of specific category products.
- Updating the Homeware categories product content, pricing and promotional lifecycle details.
- Develop commercial, seasonal Branded, Own Brand, and exclusive ranges. Using trade insight, create optimum good, better and best range construction to deliver commercial and profitable ranges.
- Working to category budgets, commercial margins and critical path
- Continually monitor the product detail, pricing, systems, images, supplier promotional submissions to agreed policies, standards and timelines.
- Building relationships with suppliers to continuously extend on the product offering.
- Identify new suppliers and manage the onboarding process.
- Working closely with internal departments to achieve all Homeware category goals.
- Understanding product lines and relative timeframes
- Liaising with internal customers, suppliers and other in-house departments
- Agreeing & reviewing suppliers T&Cs
- Benchmarking pricing & analysing competitor information.
- Maintaining & compile data to assist with management presentations / reports.
Key requirement for the role;
- Highly accurate with a good attention to detail
- Experience of retail Buying & Homewares industry essential
- Strong commercial awareness of Homewares product category and the overall market
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.
- Strong negotiating skills
- Excellent MS Office skills especially Excel
