SQL Database Administrator (DBA)
My Edinburgh based client is looking for a SQL Database Administrator (versions 2012 – 2019) to work from their Edinburgh or Glasgow office up to £50,000 + benefits
The experience expected from applicants, as well as additional skills and qualifications needed for this job are listed below.
The positions is a full end to end position working with the wider IT and operational teams. Your key responsibility will be to support and maintain the suite of live databases.
Skills needed:
- Experience in relational databases such as SQL Server or Oracle.
- Good experience of SQL scripting.
- Experience using database management tools.
- Experience performance tuning SQL scripts.
- Ideally looking for someone with 2+years experience as this is a Junior role.
What you will be doing:
- Performance monitoring – and problem solving.
- Tuning and optimisation.
- Refine and automate regular processes, tracking and doing document changes.
- Configuration and maintenance.
- Backups and recovery
- Data loads
With this role you will also be involved with deployments and resolving production issues - this could mean out of hours working. This could be every couple of months or every month and could be 30 minutes or 3 or 4 hours depending. Any time on this you could take back in Lieu.
