A leading supplier of intelligent systems to the defence and transport industry in the UK and Canada have retained our services to recruit a Key Account Manager, to develop and grow their transport division in London and the South-East.


The successful candidate will have a strong background in business development and account management, as well as experience selling into either Network Rail or TfL. The role is home-based and will require travel as required to meet with both existing and prospective clients.

Responsibilities:


  • Successfully deliver the allocated forecast order intake in the Transport division.
  • Engage with prospective organisations through solution and value proposition-based selling.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the products and services to effectively communicate the value proposition features, advantages, and benefits.
  • Propose solutions and articulate their value based on the customer’s strategy and direction, building compelling propositions that match the company's capability to market needs and differentiate from the competition.
  • Articulate value proposition to ensure the business impact of the solution is understood by the client.
  • Engage in prospecting activity to drive sales pipeline creation.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers, collaborators, and industry specialists to keep lines of communication open for pursuing existing and new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships with key decision-makers.


Experience:


  • Strong experience in business development/sales
  • Experience as the lead contact selling to Network Rail, or TfL.
  • Strong background in building and maintaining client relationships.
  • A collaborative team player, who can communicate with all areas of the company.
  • Technically competent.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication abilities.
  • Ambitious and conscientious, with a positive attitude to work.
