Position Overview:
The Maintenance Manager will manage all maintenance-related inspections and operations. This includes the modification, repair, and refurbishment of equipment & facilities of a designated set of amusement rides, waterpark attractions or devices. The Maintenance Manager will lead a Maintenance team that completes preventative maintenance, testing rides, adjusting controls, diagnosing, and repairing system malfunctions. This a full-time position at Lake Compounce located in Bristol, CT.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage a maintenance staff of 25+ and re-assigns daily tasks and projects as needed
Manage maintenance rehabilitation, repair, inspection, and troubleshooting activities to guarantee safe and efficient operation
Manage all scheduling for the department
Conduct regular inspections of rides and attractions, promptly addressing any hazards that may endanger guests or employees
Maintain cleanliness and visual compliance of all rides according to park specifications and stakeholder expectations
Provide leadership and skills development opportunities to enhance team productivity and efficiency
Ensure compliance with ride manufacturer specifications and state regulations, documenting as required
Maintain a clean and orderly work area free of hazards
Participates in management team responsibilities, including Manager on Duty shifts, property safety walks, and support of operational departments other than Maintenance
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required
Recommended Skills:
Minimum 5 years relevant maintenance experience, amusement park maintenance experience preferred
Must be able to operate trade equipment and make repairs on the park following the company’s policies and procedures
Strong work ethic, problem solving, time management, attention to detail
Excellent communication skills including proper grammar for written and verbal communications.
Physical Requirements:
Requires standing for long periods and walking long distances within the park
Exposure to the variable outside and inside temperatures, including high heat and cold temperatures
Exposure to high noise levels resulting from the rides and power equipment
Must be able to carry, push, pull, lift, hold objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to operate various vehicles, including forklifts, cars, and trucks
Education
High school diploma / GED, 2 Year Vocational or 4 Year Degree preferred
Minimum 3 years maintenance experience including supervision/management or related experience.
Speech
Critical: One-on-One conversation and communication with guests and staff, speak with guests, vendors, peers and clients by phone, radio or other device.
Availability
Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, is required
This is not a remote position.
