A leading international, multidisciplinary consultant with offices throughout the Gulf States, Middle East, Africa and Europe, is seeking to recruit a horticulturist to support the team of landscape architects to work in its London office.


The successful candidate will work on a broad range of exciting Middle East landscape projects and form part of a wider multi-disciplinary team, to whom they will collaborate closely with.


The role will involve working within the landscape team and liaising with all the international offices.


Responsibilities / Principal Accountabilities

  • of detailed planting plans
  • signature and exciting planting schemes
  • expert horticultural advice to the Landscape team and other departments
  • the Landscape team’s knowledge of horticulture with continued CPDs
  • and collaborate with the wider international team on projects, providing planting ideas from concept through to detailed design
  • and review planting plans
  • and review planting schedules
  • and review horticultural specifications
  • and review landscape management and maintenance plans
  • with the design of horticultural projects including the design of both temporary and permanent nurseries


Qualifications and Experience

  • qualifications
  • written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • time management – ability to prioritise and multi-task; punctuality; working efficiently and with a good idea of how long each task takes to complete
  • organisation skills
  • to continuous professional development and to maintaining up-to-date knowledge
  • Africa and Middle East experience is preferable


It is desirable that the candidate has


Horticultural knowledge and training

Arboricultural knowledge and training

Membership of a chartered institute

Knowledge of both terrestrial and aquatic plant communities

Understanding and appreciation of sustainable landscapes, natural ecosystems and biodiversity.

Understanding and appreciation of the concepts of climate-smart landscape and climate-smart agriculture

Experience of working on large landscape projects, preferably in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Skills in relevant IT software including CAD/Revit, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
