Lead Developer – R, Shiny, Insurance, Pricing Models

£Market Rate (Inside IR35)

London / Hybrid (2 days per week in London)

My client is a forward-thinking Insurer who requires a Lead Developer with proven expertise in R and Shiny Programming, a collaborative approach to work, and experience in mentoring, leading, and coaching colleagues to join a business-critical Project at a crucial stage.

Key Requirements:

1. Proven experience as Lead Developer, with expertise in R and Shiny Programming
2. Strong understanding of Microservices Architecture and interlinking APIs
3. Good understanding of Excel, VBA, and SQL
4. Strong academic profile, with a Degree in Mathematics / Applied Maths / Statistics / Physics / Actuarial Science / Chemistry (or related field)
5. Collaborative approach to work, with experience in mentoring, leading, and coaching colleagues
6. Excellent communication skills

Nice to have:

1. Previous Insurance industry experience
2. Previous experience of working closely with Actuarial Teams
3. Familiarity with Pricing Models
4. Awareness of GIT best practices
5. Python coding skills
6. Immediate availability
