Their workload continues to expand and broaden, and there is an opportunity for a Associate/Associate Director position now, or when you are ready.<br/><br/>They are a truly great team seeking a Leader based from the London office, but home based, and naturally out on site as much as possible. This role would be perfect for someone seeking career development within a caring, diverse and honest team.<br/><br/>The Role<br/><br/>The business really needs a Principal Ecologist who, as Technical Lead, will drive and shape the highly skilled, multidisciplinary ecology team. You will work as part of the Ecological Management Team, and will act as a focal point for technical delivery. Responsibilities will include providing technically sound deliverables for environmental and ecological outcomes on the delivery of commissions, as well as managing, mentoring and coaching the teams.<br/><br/>You will provide the team with support and guidance to maintain professional development standards, technical advice and support to complex infrastructure schemes, focusing on business and team growth.<br/><br/>We want to hear from you if you have:<br/><br/> * A strong undergraduate degree in Ecology, Zoology, Botany, Biology, Environmental Science (with a strong ecology focus) or similar/equivalent.<br/><br/> * Experience of leading a team of ecological consultants and/or third-party contractors.<br/><br/> * A drive to provide technical excellence.<br/><br/> * A minimum of eight years demonstrable post-graduate experience preferably in a professional ecological consultancy role encompassing large infrastructure projects.<br/><br/> * Full Membership of CIEEM or equivalent with expertise in protected species surveys.<br/><br/> * EPS Mitigation licence application experience and Protected species licence holder or working towards same (notable species: bats & dormice).<br/><br/> * Comprehensive knowledge of relevant wildlife legislation and ecological survey methodologies.<br/><br/> * Experience in Invasive species survey and management.<br/><br/> * Excellent reporting writing skills with experience in drafting and critically reviewing ecological reports; including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments and Method Statements.<br/><br/> * Experience of working closely with regulatory authorities and various stakeholders.<br/><br/> * Strong project management skills with the ability to plan and deliver works in line with budgets and programme deadlines.<br/><br/> * Strong written and verbal communication skills and the aptitude to rationally explain, explore and discuss ecological issues and capture feedback.<br/><br/> * Health and Safety awareness, especially safe working practices and risk assessment related to ecology fieldwork.<br/><br/> * Valid driving licence.<br/><br/>Benefits<br/><br/> * A supportive working environment with an enthusiastic, friendly and growing team<br/><br/> * Opportunities to work across all offices, and with the landscape and arboriculture teams<br/><br/> * Regular team away days with guess speakers (past guests include an ex Special Forces team member, England rugby coach, and the Head of Creative Thinking at Google!)<br/><br/> * Opportunities to engage with a wide range of clients through business development, making use of our very own TG brewed range of beers<br/><br/> * Take a paid community day once a month to volunteer for a cause you personally care for<br/><br/> * Excellent career prospects and training<br/><br/> * Professional Membership paid annually<br/><br/> * 25 days annual leave, plus your birthday off in addition to this<br/><br/> * Competitive salaries and benefits including pension contributions and a discretionary bonus.<br/><br/> * Moss Agate Limited and its Clients operates as equal opportunities employers and we welcome all applications regardless of gender, marital status, sexual orientation, pregnancy, race, colour, ethnic origin, nationality, religion or beliefs, disability, age, political opinions or trade union membership</div>
