Job Description
Blue Water Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer to work on a large Gas Turbine Power Plant in South Wales.
This project is due to start May 2024 for approximately 5 months.
Scope of works
- Leading and executing electrical commissioning activities for a gas power project in UK, until successful handover to the customer. The scope of activities will be: Experienced with NG TP106 Process Framework thereby ensuring commissioning is conducted with a level of governance and associated audit trail.
- Hands-on commissioning of electrical components and systems such as, transformers, high and low voltage switchgears, DC systems, rectifiers, inverters
- Fully competent at using Primary & Secondary Injection test set equipment.
- Carrying out testing on electrical systems and equipment, as well as system optimisation and troubleshooting and filling-in the respective commissioning documentation and protocols
- Understands and executes the equipment clearance (LOTO) procedure, as well as Job Safety Analysis / Work Authorisation / Confined Space / Hot Work Permits.
- Authorised for planning and executing LV electrical isolations.
- Participation in the walk-downs for Turnover from construction to commissioning, identifying open items that prevent system start-up.
- Manage the documentation submission for project close-out.
Requirements
- At least 7 years working experience in power stations Electrical Commissioning activities with demonstrable experience in a leading role in projects of similar relevance.
- BSc Degree, or BEng / HND in Electrical engineering
- Strong Organizational skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office
