Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Level Designer focused on User Generated Content (UGC) to join our team. In this leadership role, you will spearhead the creation of AAA-quality content, guiding a team to develop engaging multiplayer maps and single-player missions using player-facing creation tools. This position requires a blend of vision, technical expertise, and a passion for creating immersive game environments. You will play a key role in shaping the game's overall level design strategy, ensuring a cohesive and enjoyable player experience.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Strategy: Lead and mentor a team of level designers, fostering a creative and collaborative environment. Develop and implement level design strategies that align with the game's vision and goals.
  • Content Creation: Guide a team to design and develop high-quality levels from concept to final implementation, ensuring they meet AAA standards and provide an engaging player experience.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including artists, programmers, and other designers, to integrate gameplay elements, logic, and aesthetics into levels.
  • Iteration and Feedback: Utilize feedback from directors to iterate on level designs, balancing creative aspirations with gameplay functionality and performance considerations.
  • Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends and tools, continuously seeking ways to enhance the player's experience through innovative level design techniques.
  • Problem Solving: Address design challenges proactively, finding creative solutions to ensure the smooth progression of level design projects.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience in a lead or senior level design role within the games industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing levels or missions created within game engines or through player-facing creation tools.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) and familiarity with scripting or blueprint systems. Technical understanding to guide and mentor team members effectively.
  • Design Expertise: Strong understanding of level design principles and what makes games enjoyable. Ability to create engaging and immersive game environments.
