Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join our newly established Innovation and Advanced Development division of our dynamic, multidisciplinary R&D department.
The Role
As Lead Mechanical Design Engineer you will play a crucial role in the design and development of innovative new products, from concept to production.
You will develop complex CAD geometry, concurrently performing or overseeing digital simulations.
You will join a comprehensive team delivering medical devices suitable for economic manufacture.
Key duties:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Utilising CAD software (SolidWorks) to create detailed designs and technical drawings.
- Conducting thorough research on materials selection, considering properties, costs, and manufacturing processes.
- Overseeing the prototyping process, utilizing 3D printing and other rapid prototyping techniques.
- Performing comprehensive testing and analysis to validate designs and identify areas for improvement.
- Documenting design specifications, test results, and project milestones for internal and external stakeholders.
What are we looking for?
Key Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- in Mechanical Engineer or related field.
- in mechanical design and engineering.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and simulation tools (ANSYS, COMSOL, etc.).
- SolidWorks CAD experience
- Strong understanding of materials science, including properties, selection criteria, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with 3D printing technologies and rapid prototyping methods.
