Job Description

Pulse is currently searching for an experienced Pediatric Speech and Language Therapist who can provide overall support, working in a specialist secondary school with pupils who have autism and learning disabilities. This post is based in Kingsbury.About the role:As a Pediatric Speech and Language Therapist you’ll be working across 2 specialist school with pupils aged 3-19, who have a wide range of health conditions such as PMLD, SLD, MLD, ASD and the therapy team is an integral part of pupils accessing the curriculum. There is close working with families and school staff, NHS and social care teams, and the onsite multidisciplinary team, including nurses, dieticians and paediatricians. Full-time 36 hours per week or part-time flexible hours optional. Your main responsibilities as a Speech and Language Therapist: Assessing, diagnosing and implementing appropriate management plans for children with a wide range of communication & feeding needs.Using SEND code of practice to resolve and support young people and parents in accessing therapy and educational provision, including contribution to mediation and SEND Tribunal proceedingsmanage department budget.Leading and working proactively within multi-professional teams with evidence of influence in service development.Clinical supervision of others and ability to facilitate therapist, assistant, student and multi-disciplinary development through effective supervision.Design & delivery of training to other professionals.
