Lead Possession PlannerRail / Civil EngineeringLocation – Cumbernauld, ScotlandAn exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Possession Planner to take responsibility for access planning, leading a team of possession planners in the regional business unit and all associated documentation for a busy portfolio of Capital delivery projects and asset management frameworks.Business UnitA busy and fast paced project and maintenance environment involving in a range of multi-disciplinary civil engineering projects and frameworks, working for a varied range of clients including Local Authorities, Network Rail and Environmental.Projects can typically include civil engineering works and infrastructure projects such as:Highways & Roads, underbridges, overbridges and footbridges, tunnels, flood alleviation & repairs, earthworks & embankments and rail platforms and station infrastructure etc.We currently have a number of live infrastructure projects and long term renewals and maintenance frameworks underway including Civils Asset Management (CAM), Renewals Enhancement Framework (REF) and a Slabtrack framework.The RoleAs Lead Possession Planner the key tasks & responsibilities of your role will include but not be limited to:Lead Planner managing the day to day activities of the Scotland Track Access Team (TAP).Liaise with the project management teams on all Access planning matters.Work closely with the Construction Management and Estimating team to identify all available possessions to optimise working and to maintain the project programme.Preparation of the Master / Contract / Managing possession schedule and supporting information.Ensure possession, isolation & protection requests are submitted in line with Network Rail planning timescales and relevant format.Planning of possession/protection arrangements.Monitor / record / highlight any possession planning changes.Prepare safety critical documentation in line with railway group standards.Attend or arrange attendance to all possession meetings with the client.Identify project risks / opportunities and participate in the management process.Assist in the Preparation of entitlement submissions.Ensure that all aspects of safety are taken into consideration when planning a project.Maintain close relationships and Liaise with other members of the planning job family, contribute to the transfer of best practice.Submission of Road Closure requests.RequirementsTo excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Lead Possession Planner OR Access Planner, leading a small team of track access planners in a rail minor works environment.Team management experiencePPS planning access experienceSSOW planning qualification Core Level 2 PTSTrained and certificated as competent as Controller of Site Safety (COSS)Must have a good understanding of the Network Rail Rule Book and be able to interpret Sectional Appendices, Hazard Directory, and Environmental Assessments etc.Holder of a full British Driving License.In returnCompetitive annual salary negotiable dependant on experienceCompany Car or Car Allowance25 days holiday plus bank holidays (increasing with service)Up to 3 volunteer daysCompany contributory Pension schemeLife InsuranceWestfield Health Cash Plan & Westfield RewardsGenerous Employee referral schemeSupport and employee infrastructure embedded in the business as a platform for personal and professional development creating pathways for unrivalled career development and progression opportunities internally.Consistent learning opportunitiesA safe place to workEmployee forum’s that provide a platform for having your voice heard
