Project Overview
Bechtel is seeking to work with a major Indian corporation to provide Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services
and Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for offsites and utilities (OSBL) for a
multi-billion-dollar upgrade / expansion of their existing petrochemical facilities in India. The PMC Services will be
led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region, the project sites in India, as well as several key
contractor locations across India. The EPCM Services for OSBL will be led out of Bechtel’s India offices.
Position Overview
Career growth opportunity for a self-motivated, high performing Lead Process Engineer with EDC (Ethylene Di-chloride)
and/or VCM (Vinyl Chloride Monomer) experience seeking technical/leadership challenges in the process design of a
multi-billion-dollar upgrade/expansion. The Lead Process Engineer for EDC/VCM should have a good understanding of
EDC/VCM facility design and/or operation.
Position Summary
- Reviews Engineering Contractor’s process engineering deliverables according to a set engineering design
criteria utilizing approved engineering procedures, practices, and standards.
- Reviews Engineering Contractor’s designs, studies, reports, and proposals.
- Work with other PMC lead discipline engineers to ensure that all interfaces between disciplines are clearly
defined and recorded.
- Coordinate the detailed design review of the facility and monitor status of Engineering Contractor’s Process
Engineering deliverables with a focus on meeting schedule due dates.
- Reviews Engineering Contractor’s scope and work plan for the process discipline for all phases of the project
and make sure all specifications are met and standards followed.
- Responsible for ensuring the delivery of project deliverables (PFDs/UFDs, HMB, equipment sizing, selection
and specification, PSVs and flare system sizing and specification, etc.) within the agreed contractual
requirements.

Skills and Qualifications
- A recognized bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university and minimum
considerable experience of Process Engineering experience in EPC and/or operating industry, experience of being in
a process engineering leadership role and circa 10 years of EDC/VCM experience in design and/or operation.
- Excellent understanding of chemical engineering principles of heat transfer, vapor-liquid equilibria, mass
transfer and thermodynamics, and their general application to process design.

Assignment conditions
If you are successful Bechtel will organise your relocation and logistics (Indian visas, travel, and provision of
accommodation in Mumbai) If you are open to relocation: We will provide accommodation for you whilst you are in
country (single or accompanied by spouse). If you prefer rotation: Our single status rotational schedule is an option
for you. This means that you would mobilise and spend 10 weeks working in the country and then you would go home to
the UK for 2 weeks and so on for the project duration.
