About Koodoo
Launched in 2019, the Koodoo platform provides mortgage comparison services to the UK’s leading comparison and personal finance sites including Compare The Market, Confused.com, ClearScore and The Times. Our white-label mortgage journeys and API integrations with leading lenders and brokers help hundreds of thousands of consumers find the perfect mortgage for them each month online. We are now extending the platform to provide a full digital origination service to our partners. Leading lenders and investors will use the platform to reach millions of UK borrowers online, bringing them an outstanding digital-first customer experience and new, more flexible mortgage products needed by today’s homeowners. Our origination service is going live with our first lending partners in H1 2022.
About the role
Our platform stitches together distributed API integrations, and cloud driven automation to allow us to originate mortgage loans seamlessly and in real time. Given that this is a new project, you can expect to get involved with a wide range of activities, from data modelling exercises for loan ledgers to designing asynchronous workflows for ops teams.

Day to Day
- You’ll collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver robust software solutions for our mortgage origination platform
- You’ll be reviewing, writing, maintaining, documenting, and testing code using GitHub for source control
- You’ll attend and often lead sprint ceremonies such as planning sessions, retrospectives, and project roadmapping exercises
- You’ll mentor your fellow engineers, share your knowledge with the wider team and help the wider team resolve technical issues and blockers
- You’ll lead technical meetings and ensure that we balance taking a measured approach to designing solutions with pace of delivery
- You’ll ultimately be responsible for ensuring that our software delivery squads are maintaining our team established best practices, working together effectively and building future proof solutions that can scale with the team
You
- You have experience building lending platforms
- You’re confident with modern web technologies and languages such as node.js, python, and MongoDB
- You’re a proactive problem solver that’s highly organised and well structured when it comes to delivering your solutions
- You like to get involved with a multitude of things, rather than specialising in a specific area
- You’re a empathising tech lead that listens to your team but is unafraid to step out of your comfort zone and steer your teammates in the direction when needed
