We have a unique opportunity for a Lead Software Engineer to work on a greenfield project. It is a global organisation developing a marketplace platform that will bring together all parties in their market, to assist organisations to grow and scale at a rapid rate.

With a new CTO in place, you will be joining an experienced core team of product led software engineering experts at the start of an extremely exciting journey for all involved. As well the Lead Software Engineer they are also hiring a number of Software Engineers across all levels of experience to deliver a minimum viable product (MVP) as soon as possible. Decisions will be made quickly, and you will get the chance to own and solve problems that arise with an opportunity to innovate at every juncture. Very much a measure twice, cut once environment.

The Role
Your primary focus will be targeted specifically on the delivery of this platform but once the initial functionality is built then the expansion of services and data that can be developed as an extension are almost limitless.
You'll be working on their current implementation frameworks and patterns which are AWS, Terraform, Docker and languages utilising the JVM in DevOps environment.
What are your responsibilities?
Lead the engineering teams focused on the Operator side of the platform. The scope of this is:
all external integrations that source data from the industry – this is likely to be api, file and UI based
the portal/UI required for operators to manage their data
normalisation of industry data
presentation for platform consumption
Build a team and culture that is focused data as a source of insight to deliver the platform Working closely with the architect to define and build services that elegantly scale, are automation first, quickly extensible in a devops model Contribute to the wider tech and product strategy and as a member of the tech team
The person
What experience will you have?
Experience working with JVM languages i.e. Java, Scala, Kotlin etc
Experience working in a DevOps environment
Experience working in a microservices architecture – docker, Kubernetes, terraform
Leading high performing engineering teams
Leading teams working in a data centric, automation led environment
Ability to work and solve complex problems to situations and reward and recognise your team members who do this also.
The role will be remotely based. There will be an expectation to travel to London very occasionally for critical meetings etc.
The salary on the role is paying up to £110,000 with a 30% bonus on top.
