Legal Administrator for a Trade Union in South West London.

A London-based Trade Union is seeking a Legal Administrator to join their Legal team, to oversee and manage the administration and processing of employment law claims. The role involves managing a varied caseload, liaising with various stakeholders and ensuring the efficient handling of cases. Previous experience in employment law is essential and a relevant professional qualification is advantageous.

Role: Legal Administrator
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 12 weeks
Salary: Up to £45,000 equivalent / £25.52 p/h DOE
Working Hours: 9:00 - 5:30
Hybrid: 5 days in the office, moving to a 3-2 model once trained (3 days in the office, 2 days WFH)
Location: South West London
 
Responsibilities:
  • Manage employment caseloads and streamline case management
  • Verify claimant memberships and maintain the database
  • Communicate with branches and members
  • Handle early conciliation matters
  • Collaborate with the Union's solicitors and ET panellists
  • Coordinate statistical data and provide regular reports to the Finance Committee
  • Supervise the team and allocate work accordingly

Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in employment law
  • Degree or professional legal qualification is preferred
  • Knowledge of employment tribunals and legislation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Empathetic, supportive and able to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Team player with fantastic people management skills
