About the role

Assist with general office administration, as well as conducting research, maintaining records, and helping to build relationships with internal stakeholders. This role will require personal development within the legal function and will also include a degree of paralegal work, particularly developing the role of managing the CSS Framework Agreement. This is a role that has potential to include more than administration tasks and the ideal candidate will be encouraged to develop the role into a paralegal / contract management function.

What will you do?

  • First point of contact for telephone queries and all types of correspondence from clients, third parties or other departments.
  • Responsible for ensuring delivery of messages in line with the legal teams stated requirements.
  • Recording and maintaining an effective system (using the legal teams Salesforce process amongst others and other relevant systems) to give the department an up to date, true and accurate record of matters being worked on and deadlines for such.
  • Preparing papers as required for members of the legal team.
  • Supporting the Senior Legal Advisor as your line manager on current matters/affairs as required.
  • Supporting the General Counsel on current matters/ affairs
  • Proactively identify, raise and report any concerns or queries with regards to company policy and procedures.
  • Undertake any other duties in line with the basic objectives of the post.

What are we looking for?

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Salesforce, MS Word and Excel is essential. A legal background and experience of contracts is an advantage.

  • Demonstrates an awareness of the professional standards required and the importance of delivering a quality service to our customers and internal depts
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent spelling, punctuation and grammar
  • Ability to identify and achieve solutions to problems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to juggle competing demands from multiple stakeholders and to keep on top of a diverse portfolio of work.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Strong administration skills (including the use of MS Word (track changes) and Excel), to manage own workload
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet conflicting deadlines
  • Applicants must have the ability to organise and prioritise work
  • Strong team-focused work ethic
  • Ability and desire to develop; learning legal principles and applying them in this role

Experience

  • Administration: 1 year minimum (Required)
  • A degree or equivalent in law
