Trading Law Compliance Advisor- Retail Sector- Somerset

Role Purpose:

High growth retail organisation looking for a Trading Law Advisor for its growing HO.

You will form part of the Legal & Compliance function.

You will advise on regulatory requirements and compliance responsibilities in the UK, ROI and the wider EU. Ensuring that the business meets and adheres to all regulatory requirements, including but not limited to consumer rights and data protection, impacting the UK & EU.

The function is managed by an experienced team working with a phenomenally positive culture.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

• abreast of relevant laws, regulations and industry standards, applicable to the retail environment.
• scanning for future changes in regulations and assess any emerging risk.
• commercially sound risk based regulatory compliance support and advice to internal stakeholders, relating to (including but not limited to): the Green Claims Directive; Consumer Protection Laws and Regulations; Marketing and Advertising; Digital Markets, Competition and Consumer compliance; Digital Services Act; PECR; GDPR and Cookies compliance.
• implement and maintain compliance policies and procedures; to align with applicable regulations and laws.
• conduct appropriate risk assessments, collaborating with internal departments; to identify potential compliance issues and mitigate such related risk.
• investigate and report as required on compliance status.
• training as necessary to the internal stakeholders, proportionate to the impact, risk and audience.
• a culture of compliance awareness and ethical behaviour with stakeholders.
• the Legal Commercial Team with ad hoc related matters as required.

Office requirement 1-2 days per week.
