Job Description
DMJ is delighted to partner with a well-known home and motor insurance provider to aid their search for a legal counsel. This is a newly created role joining the dynamic and well-established legal team within a fast expanding and diversifying business.
This role will report into the Head of Legal – Financial Services, a highly committed people manager who is dedicated to supporting talent with continual support and training.
Day to day work:
- Autonomously drafting, negotiating, and advising on regulated and non-regulated contacts. Opportunity to lead on key commercial projects at both B2C and B2B level.
- Offering day to day legal guidance for new business and product ventures, using a practical and business – orientated approach.
- Liaising and collaborating with the Group Risk and Compliance team on regulatory matters.
Ideal Candidate:
- 4+ years PQE, including at least 2 years within an in-house financial services environment.
- Strong experience advising FCA regulated businesses in the drafting and negotiation of various regulated commercial contracts.
- Understanding of insurance distribution’s technical aspects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of insurance underwriting and regulated financial services products, including consumer credit and hire.
- The confidence to independently navigate work and the resilience to embrace and overcome new challenges.
