Job Summary

In this role, the Legal Counsel will be joining a growing and dynamic legal department that provides support and advice to senior leadership and staff of Titanium and its subsidiaries. You will report directly to Titanium's General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, and work closely with members of the Human Resources, Sales, and Operations teams. The Legal Counsel will focus primarily on reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, taking carriage of various litigation matters and providing general advice on employment-related issues. At the same time, you will also have exposure to all areas of the law that arise and intersect with Titanium's every-day business needs.

The Successful Candidate will:

  • Draft and revise agreements, releases, and other legal documentation with the view to protect company rights and minimize risks
  • Provide interpretation, and clarification, if necessary, of the company's stipulated requirements and legal position in addressing issues, internally or externally
  • Ensure legal compliance through research and maintenance of the company's knowledge bank with updates on amendments to legislation as they become known
  • Conduct all matters in a professional manner, with integrity and accountability

Requirements & Qualifications

  • J.D./LL.B. and called to the bar in Ontario or Quebec
  • 2-5 years of experience in private practice, in-house, or a combination of both
  • Strong knowledge of corporate/commercial law or employment law is an asset
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact across all levels of an organization
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, multi-task, and handle a fast-paced work environment
  • Attention to detail is a must
