This independent investment management firm, headquartered in London, are looking to recruit a senior lawyer for a 14 month fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave. With a diverse global client base of corporations, public and private pension plans, endowments, foundations and individuals they invest in both equity and fixed income asset classes.
As a lawyer trained in a top law firm, with excellent academics, you will need to have gained a broad range of experience in a related financial services organisation.
The role will involve the following:
- Negotiation of client related legal documentation including Investment Management Agreements
- Negotiation of trading / brokerage legal documentation
- Negotiation of external service provider / vendor contracts
- Negotiation of fund structures documentation globally
- Overseeing service providers, such as accountants, transfer agents and external counsel
- Dealing with litigation and analysing corporate claims against companies that have been invested in
- Provision of general legal advice to stakeholders within the business
- Dealing with regulations and regulatory changes
- Assessing and managing risk
Essential skills include:
- Solicitor with a minimum of 8 years PQE in a similar financial services organisation
- Knowledge of the investment management industry
- Knowledge of the global regulatory environment
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to summarise and translate legal language into plain English
- Able to offer commercial and practical solutions to legal issues
- Attention to accuracy and detail
On offer is a 14 month fixed term contract, starting in August, with an excellent base salary, benefits package and bonus. You will be part of a collaborative and collegiate team, working on a hybrid working basis of 3 days a week in their highly impressive office in the city (and 2 days from home).
