In-House Legal Counsel
Uxbridge - Hybrid (2 days in the office)
The Advocate Group is partnered with the fastest-growing drinks brand globally, searching for a Data & Privacy expert to join their in-house legal team.
This exciting opportunity has great career prospects, as this international brand grows year-on-year and builds a closer relationship with the fan base. We are looking for a personable legal professional, to work with various stakeholders in both the UK & US teams advising on GDPR, compliance, regulatory and anti-trust.
The successful candidate will play an integral role in the legal department, where a strong, likable personality, positive attitude and collaborative working style are valued, alongside legal acumen.
Responsibilities:
- Counseling and providing strategic advice regarding the processing of personal information under EMEA wide data protection laws.
- Working with the Global Privacy Counsel, update and maintain compliance of the business' internal and external privacy policies with general best privacy practices.
- Advise the on collection, use, sharing, and disposal of personal data in connection with consumer promotions and customer relationship management.
- Strategize with the company’s cross-functional teams with respect to data classification, data retention, and information governance.
Requirements:
- Minimum three years of experience at a firm, in-house or regulatory agency focused on issues related to privacy, data protection, and information management.
- Expert knowledge of privacy and data protection laws and practices, including General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”).
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, business, negotiation and communication skills; the ability to absorb complex legal issues and communicate these issues in a simple and understandable manner to a non legal audience.
- Embrace teamwork and work closely on a day to day basis with other members of the business' tight-knit and non-hierarchal legal team.
