THE ROLE:
We operate two online beer stores in Europe: Beer Hawk in the UK and InterDrinks (Saveur-Bière & HOPT) in France.
This is a rare opportunity for a talented lawyer to join as in-house legal counsel at ZX Ventures solely dedicated to all things legal at our online beer stores. This role is based out of Beer Hawk (Leeds) OR InterDrinks (Lille), depending on the candidate.
The team is highly multicultural and we value a down-to-earth approach but a sky-is-the-limit mentality. Our businesses are often high pace but there is the opportunity for a lot of interaction with different stakeholders and autonomy once settled. The role is ideal for anyone keen to see how your legal advice can make products turn up in e-stores and in consumers’ hands!
Key Responsibilities:
You will provide end to end legal support to our European beer ecommerce operations. This includes advising on data, alcohol regulation, licenses, distribution, antitrust, IP, labelling, employment, pricing, promotions, compliance, as well as merchandising – allowing our teams to bring their brews to the European market at a click.
- You will be a legal pioneer and set up a legal function within our beer ecommerce companies in Europe.
- You will help our e-commerce team navigate new legal developments so they can continue to serve customers and consumers across Europe. This includes advising on IP, antitrust, data protection and alcohol regulation.
- You will work closely with the ZX Ventures legal and corporate affairs team, and have access to all the benefits of being part of a Global legal practice.
- You will support ZX Ventures’ corporate affairs agenda and ensure Beer Hawk and InterDrinks are heard when new rules or regulations may affect us.
- You will be the guardian of ethics and compliance and train the e-commerce teams.

SOUND INTERESTING TO YOU? HERE'S WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- You have obtained a law degree from a university in France and/or the UK with outstanding academic credentials - we’re looking at you, French or UK lawyers
- You are qualified to practice in at least the UK or France, and know your way around UK and EU laws and regulations
- You have practiced in an international law firm and/or an in-house team
- You are comfortable working in English AND French at a working proficiency level
