Job Description

Our client is the pre-eminent private bank in London. With an unparalleled history and boasting significant high net worth clients from the UK, the bank continues to evolve and adapt to the requirements of its growing customer base. The bank provides a highly attractive working culture and atmosphere with high levels of job satisfaction in an inclusive and family led environment. Consequently, the very stable legal team of the bank is seeking to hire a solicitor for 14 months, to cover a maternity period of one of the team. Being in a small legal team, the role of the Legal Counsel is broad: you will advise on a range of legal issues including financial, commercial and corporate. From dealing with bespoke financing arrangements (both regulated and non regulated) for clients and their companies, through to advising on corporate structures, shareholder matters and providing general commercial advice on a range of agreements. You will also gain exposure to regulatory matters affecting projects that the bank was to implement and work with the wider team on project implementations. Candidate Requirements: You will be a qualified Solicitor and have at least 3+ years’ PQE within corporate, commercial or banking law, from a highly regarded law firm in the UK. Solicitors returning to work or looking for a part time role, are actively encouraged to apply. Experience of HNW would be advantageous, but is not an absolute requirement. The most important requirement is your ability to be able to approach a range of legal matters across banking, corporate and commercial. If you have experience of private client work, from a private client law firm or within the private wealth department of a financial services organisation, this would also be desirable. An ability to embrace all legal issues and work as part of the team to solve the issues at hand. The bank offers an outstanding benefits package including hybrid and flexible working and a best in class pensions scheme. This role is paid for 3 days per week (pro-rata), where 1 day will be in the office. There will also be a bonus payable upon completion of the contract. If you are interested in discussing this exceptional role in more detail, on a confidential basis, please contact Tom Harvey at Danos Associates – tharvey@thedanosgroup.com
