Legal Counsel - Litigation

Location: London

One of the world's leading financial trading platforms, listed on the London Stock Exchange, is seeking to hire a solicitor into its impressive global legal team.

As part of an international legal team stretching across London, Europe and APAC, this role will have responsibility for various contentious matters. Primarily the role will look after disputes from institutional and retail clients and seek to mitigate and manage resolutions. There is a breadth of contentious matters from low to very high value. The role will also include, where needed, advice of contentious regulatory matters and any other disputes. However, where work flows vary, the role will also advise on general commercial matters, including providing assistance in drafting and negotiating on a wide range of commercial contracts.

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified as a solicitor, with at least 2 years' PQE from a recognised law firm and / or have in house experience. If applying directly from a law firm, secondment or commercial experience would be highly advantageous.
• Direct experience of advising on a variety of commercial litigation matters and managing disputes.
• A strong team player, working as part of the wider legal team, but also having the personality required to manage internal colleagues and provide advice to different stakeholders.
• Robust but fair approach required when reviewing complaints and disputes.
