Key Responsibilities:
Advice on and negotiation of supply contract terms, in relation to the putting in place of new contracts, renewing contracts and contract variations
Helping to devise innovative and efficient approaches to supply contracts work, in close collaboration with the Senior Legal Counsel (Supply Contracts) and other stakeholders
Production and maintenance of appropriate template terms for use in connection with third party suppliers
Updating relevant Legal and business colleagues with legal developments relating to supply contracts
Assisting colleagues with supply contract disputes
Managing external Legal support where instructed in relation to supply contracts
Representation of Legal on project working and steering groups as required from time to time
Ad hoc assistance on other legal queries and issues that arise from time to time
Qualifications
Essential skills and experience:
1 to 3 years’ commercial contracts experience
Strong drafting and negotiating skills
Excellent knowledge of contract law
A working knowledge of the regulatory environment in which the Group operates
Highly efficient, commercially minded and pragmatic
Ability to work in a busy and fast paced environment
Proactive and self-motivated
Excellent communicator and influencer at all levels; upwards, downwards and with business stakeholders
Positive team player
Ability to make innovative and strategic recommendations
Desirable skills and experience:
Commercial contracts (particularly IT) experience in financial services or another regulated sector
Experience of advising on commercial contract disputes and litigation
Knowledge and experience of other areas of law including data protection, employment and IP (or a desire to expand skill set to suit ongoing business requirements)
Qualification requirements:
We are anticipating that this role would be suitable for a solicitor with at least 1 to 3 years’ PQE of Commercial Contracts. However, we are aware that this position could be filled by persons outside of this criteria and we encourage anyone interested with equivalent or greater experience to get in touch to discuss.
